This bit about Biden excusing himself is funny enough to be true. I post it just to document the timeline.

I also read a few moments ago that Obama said he is “proud of his choice” of Biden. Paranoid thinking alert: Obama will puff up Biden ad nauseum for the next couple of weeks, and then be simply “devastated” by the health problem that forced Biden to step aside. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of crisis. This is a time for all of us to set aside partisan issues. Senator Clinton has graciously agreed to become my running mate, and I could not be more proud of her dedication to our great country.”
